Everyday Tools – Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about the free everyday utilities in Recentech Studio.
What tools are included in Everyday Tools Lab?
Everyday Tools Lab includes five browser-based utilities: Smart Calculator Suite (Loan EMI calculator with bank-standard amortization formula, BMI calculator with WHO health categories, 3-mode percentage calculator, age calculator with birthday countdown, and date difference calculator), Unit Converter (convert between 8 categories including length, weight, temperature, volume, speed, area, data storage, and time with metric-to-imperial support), Color & Gradient Studio (color picker with HEX/RGB/HSL, 4 color harmonies, 5 palette strategies, and linear/radial/conic gradient builder), Text Toolkit (word counter, 7 case conversions, find & replace, slug generator, and clean/transform tools), and World Clock & Timer (24-city live clock, timezone converter, stopwatch with laps, and countdown timer with audio alert).
Do Everyday Tools require an account?
No. All Everyday Tools work entirely in your browser with no server-side processing. You can use them without creating an account. No data is sent to any server — your information stays private on your device. There are also no daily limits or restrictions — use them as often as you need, completely free.
Are there daily usage limits?
No. Everyday Tools run 100% in your browser, so there are no daily limits or restrictions. Unlike AI-powered tools that have daily usage caps due to API costs, browser-based tools have no per-user cost. Use them as often as you need — completely free, with no credit card or account required.
How accurate are the calculators?
The calculators use standard mathematical formulas and are as accurate as any dedicated calculator app. The Loan EMI calculator uses the standard amortization formula (EMI = P × r × (1+r)^n / ((1+r)^n - 1)) used by banks worldwide. The BMI calculator follows the WHO standard (kg/m²). Percentage calculations use double-precision floating-point arithmetic with up to 10 significant digits. Age and date calculations account for varying month lengths and leap years.
Can I use Everyday Tools offline?
Once the page is loaded, most Everyday Tools work without an internet connection since all processing happens in your browser. The World Clock requires an initial connection to load timezone data from your browser's IANA database, but the stopwatch and timer work fully offline. The Calculator Suite, Unit Converter, Color & Gradient Studio, and Text Toolkit all work completely offline after the initial page load.
What unit conversions are supported?
The Unit Converter supports 8 categories with both metric and imperial systems: Length (mm to miles including inches, feet, yards), Weight (mg to metric tons including pounds and ounces), Temperature (Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin), Volume (ml to gallons including cooking measures like tablespoons, teaspoons, and cups), Speed (m/s to knots including km/h and mph), Area (mm² to hectares including acres and square feet), Data Storage (bytes to petabytes), and Time (milliseconds to years). A common conversions reference table is also included.
What can the Color & Gradient Studio do for designers?
The Color & Gradient Studio is a comprehensive design tool with three main features: a Color Picker that shows HEX, RGB, and HSL simultaneously with 4 color harmony types (Complementary, Analogous, Triadic, Split-Complementary), a Palette Generator that creates 5-color palettes using 5 different strategies (Monochromatic, Analogous, Complementary, Triadic, Split-Complementary), and a Gradient Builder that supports linear, radial, and conic CSS gradients with up to 4 color stops, custom angles, and 6 curated presets. All CSS output is production-ready.
Is my data private when using Everyday Tools?
Absolutely. All Everyday Tools process data entirely in your browser using built-in JavaScript APIs. No data — including financial calculations, health information, text content, or timezone queries — is ever sent to any server. Your information stays completely private on your device. This makes these tools safe for personal calculations, sensitive text processing, and private scheduling.
